A Message From The Car Pro

Welcome to April!  All the March sales started rolling in Monday, and auto sales in the U.S. were way up versus a year ago.  I run the numbers down for you below along with the winners and losers by brand.  Where were you on 9.11.01?  I give you my story in segment #11 of True Stories From A Former Car Dealer.

We continue to offer you information on new introductions coming out of the New York Auto Show.  This week we have reports on a new Mazda6, Maserati Levante SUV, a 550-horse Cadillac CT6 V-Sport, and a new Mazda CX-3 SUV.

My Listener Question of the Week explains leasing terminology, which can be confusing.  In other stories, we give you an update on the tragic Uber self-driving car accident, a new study on distracted driving, and April is Car Care Month, a great time to do some maintenance.

In new vehicle reviews, I give you a review and video of the 2018 Dodge Durango SRT 392, a beast of an SUV.  On the other end of the spectrum, our Terry Box gives you a full review of the 2018 Lexus ES350.

Plus, other stories and all the regular features including how to win our classic car contest, our radio schedule and stations, recalls, and how to hook up with us on Facebook and Twitter.

We so appreciate all of you who take this newsletter and listen to the show every week.  We know that without you, there is no Car Pro Show.  So always let us know when we can help you. If you have not been there lately, take a look at our website, www.carprousa.com, it changes all the time!

Have a terrific week.  See you on the radio!

Get All 5 Hours Of The Car Pro Show!

Our podcast makes it easy to catch all three hours of the show, within minutes of when we go off the air every Saturday.  Some of you, like our friends in Southern California, only get the first two hours of the show and miss the third one.

The national show podcast is always online by 2:30 Central every Saturday, just after we go off the air, and you get three full hours.  The DFW show podcast doesn’t go up until Tuesday after the show airs on Saturday.  Both are easy to operate and commercial-free.  The national show podcast goes back as far as July 2011.

Jerry's Video of the Week

Straight talk, honest answers:  There is no amount of money that could get me to take this trip.  The video, titled Road To Basecamp could quite possibly be the worst road in the world as these mountain climbers in the Himalayas discovered. The climbers have a great sense of humor to deal with the road situation. Once their eight-day journey to the basecamp was completed, they made a successful first ascent of Kishtwar Kailash.  I only found one curse word (S-word) in this short video.

Kevin's Video of the Week

In an update recently, we learned that so far Volkswagen has bought back over 350,000 vehicles at a cost of over $7.4 Billion dollars as a result of the diesel emissions scandal.

Where are all those vehicles? This video shows thousands & thousands of them parked in a California desert on "an interim basis". Fyi, VW currently has thirty-seven "Car Parks" like this one.

Classic Car Contest: Win an Auto Heat Shield

fc930f57-0ce7-4baa-bab2-51c8c3afa95f.jpg
We have had a lot of fun with our classic car contest on the Car Pro Show Facebook page. Kevin puts up a classic every Saturday morning, and we invite people to guess the year, make, and model.

Each week, one luck winner will win a free Auto Heatshield!

If you have never seen the Auto Heatshield, it is a laser-cut, heavily insulated front windshield cover that gives you an exact fit, no matter what kind of car you drive. Take a look here: www.autoheatshield.com. I have one for every car I own and they are awesome. Usually, the generic brands let the sun in, they fall down, and they look awful. With Auto Heatshield, you just unroll it, place it in the windshield, and use your sun visors to hold it in place and completely block all the sun.

Here is how the contest works:
-Every Saturday morning around 8 AM Central, Kevin will post a picture of a classic car.
-Go to our Facebook pageand if you haven't done so yet, hit the "LIKE" button.
-Post your best guess of year, make, and model.
-Contest will end the following night (Sunday) at midnight Central time.
-All correct, complete entries will be eligible for a random drawing.
-Winner will be posted on Monday morning, and a certificate to get your free Auto Heatshield will be emailed to you.

CONGRATULATIONS to this week's winner:

Peter Vismans of Woodbine, Maryland!

Get a Great Deal on a Car, In a Hurry, With NO Hassles

You don’t need to dread buying a new car.  In fact, it should be one of the most exciting times of your life, and it can be!  As a former car dealership owner, I developed a shortcut plan for consumers that works time and time again.

So, why is the Car Pro Show the most listened-to auto advice show in the country?  Part of it is that thousands have bought cars the Car Pro way and continue to be loyal listeners.  What really helps us is when listeners shop with our dealer affiliates.  Their advertising on our radio affiliates is what fuels the Car Pro Show.

Using our system is easy, but MAKE NO MISTAKE, THIS IS A PROCESS and it needs to be followed to reap the rewards of it.

You can go Car Pro DIRECT to any of our affiliates from our website, all you have to do is choose the market you listen from, then scroll down to the brand you want to consider. Email that dealer from our website, and you’ll get a Car Pro VIP Certificate right back in your email. Be sure to enter your correct address to get the certificate.  You are welcome to email as many dealers as you wish from our list.   Here is a link to all our dealers coast-to-coast:

VIEW OUR CERTIFIED DEALERS

It is important to note that none of my income is derived by the sale of vehicles.  In other words, whether a dealer sells no vehicles or 100 from the show, the fee to be on the show is the same and has no impact on my revenue.

With that said, dealers expect a return on their investment.  They want to see people coming to their showrooms based on the Car Pro Show recommendation.  So patronizing our sponsors will keep the show on the air. If you can save money, have a great buying experience, and help the show, it is a win-win for everyone.

A car for most people is the second largest purchase you will ever make.  It is always a good idea to “know someone” in the business.  The sheer volume of business I send our dealers gives you a HUGE advantage and best of all it is FREE!
